When I heard from Alina about her illness I sent her an extremely long letter detailing all the incredible ways in which knowing her had helped me.
It was deeply personal and mentioned things which only she and I could relate to.
In letting her know how much I appreciated her friendship I know she felt deeply honoured that she was so highly regarded. This is not the place to go into those details so I contented myself with a simple recount of our times together.
I don't expect to have another friend ever again who meant so much to me.
She was my dearest and closest friend for 38 years and I am eternally grateful for all she did to help me.
With fondest memories.
Linda Kilani.
